Big Kids

I am no longer a mom of babies, I've got two big kids. How do I know this? Because they swing on big kid swings and hang on monkey bars, and those are things that big kids do. It makes me a bit sad, but it's fun watching them learn new things!

Diaper Heads

Also from the week before we moved, Brian happened to catch some of the craziness of a typical day with the McGurn boys. The pics pretty much say it all!

Rock Collection

One afternoon at my parents house we migrated under the deck for some shade, and Jack decided to start a "rock collection" (in his own words), we seriously played under here for about two hours! My brother-in-law Brian's parent's were visiting and when Jack found out they were Harry's Grandma and Grandpa, Jack decided he would call them Grandma and Grandpa too. That's Jack's "Grandpa" pushing him on horse swing. He was just pumped to have anyones grandparents around! Harry wasn't playing with rocks, but I had to sneak in a few pics of the little cutie from the day!

Cards with Great Grandpa Orien

While I've been busy working on the house, I got seriously behind on blogging, and I have some fun pics to share...from the week before we moved to Dickinson.... two months ago. Anyways, late pics are better than no pics right?

My Grandpa Orien loves to play cards, and whenever he's around theres always a good game of cards going on. One of my best memories from childhood was racing into their house, heading straight to the card drawer, and getting a game of "Crazy Eights" going. Right before we moved my Grandpa came to visit and Mason has started his card playing at a young age!

Dad's Truck

One night we had to go pick up Matt from his truck late at night, which equaled an opportunity for Jack to sit up in the truck. To Jack daddy's truck is heaven, and it didn't matter how late or how dark it was, Jack was overjoyed.

A VERY VERY green door!

I'm a girl who plays favorites. If I go to a restaurant and find something I like on my first visit, forget ever trying anything else ever again because I will order that same thing every time. Working at Target I fell in love with wearing the Naturilzer Pursue shoes, so during my seven year career there I purchased a brown pair and a black pair... three times. Yes, 6 pairs of Naturilzer Pursues.

I play favorites with colors too, in high school it was pink. I loved pink, and once went on a 10 day trip where I accidentally packed almost all pink shirts. I had a pink phone case and wore pink to high school graduation.

In college it was turquoise. Turquoise clothes, decor, you name it, I got it in turquoise. My bridesmaids wore turquoise.

Since my wedding (5 years ago), it's been green. My kitchen accents are green, my curtains are green, my closest has various shades of green, I even painted Mason's nursery bright green.

To make a long story short, when I wanted to give the exterior of our house a facelift, I figured painting the door would be a cheap and easy place to start, and what better color than bright green?

So here it is, the big reveal, our bright green door! Matt isn't a big fan, but I think it will grow on him. Jack told, "wow mom, you're painted door is BEAUTIFUL"! The real question is what the neighbors think???

As you can see, we're starting to make some progress on our landscaping too! I'll spare you those details for now though!

Future Good Dads!

Since living with their Cousin Harrison, the boys have been pretending to be daddies to their loves, and it is absolutely adorable! They swaddle them, rock them, shush them, and there may have even been a few failed breastfeeding attempts! I love seeing them being so nurturing, I'm hoping that it's preparing them to someday both be very good daddies!
