Auntie Britty Comes to Visit!!! (and her boyfriend)

Last week Britty and her boyfriend Brian came to visit us for the week. Brian graduated from college on Saturday and they arrived late Saturday night. Sunday they came to church with us, picknicked in City Park, and then spent a rainy Sunday afternoon at the Museum of Nature and Science. Jack went on a slide for the first time there and LOVED it.

Then on Monday morning Matt and I left for two days of rafting and camping, that due to rain turned into one day of rafting and a cheap motel. Our one day of rafting was awesome though, we had a great time on the Arkansas river rafting class III's and IV's. The water was only 35 degrees! Jack had a great time with Britt and Brian, exploring Colorado by backpack while we were gone!
Then on Wednesday and Thursday Britty and Brian went rafting, biking, and up Pike's Peak. They also took over 800 pictures which I will spare you all of. Then on Friday we all drove up to Estes Park where we had lunch and walked around, and then on to Rocky Mountain National Park together where we saw moose, antelope, elk, and beautiful mountains.

Then on Saturday they flew back to MN. It was a fun filled trip and it was great to get to know Brian better.

Two Little Teeth!

Our little cutie now has his bottom two front teeth! I'm pretty sure that top two are on their way too. He has become VERY active, crawling on everything, and even walking around the perimeter of the living room, holding on to whatever he can. As you can see trying to mail out a package was VERY difficult with a little boy who just wanted to play with the big cardboard box. (hint hint... Andrea your birthday gift is on it's way!) He also is starting to eat more adult food, and will not let anyone eat without standing at their feet grunting until you give him some of whatever you've got! How can you resist this cute little begging face?

Swing and Sweet Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes are Jackson's absolute favorite food, here is him eating!

Today we got a new swing for the front porch, at first Jackson was a little freaked out, but after a few swings he really loved it!

Due to the rainy weather while Matt's dad was out, we had to find fun things to do inside... so what's better than a cousin picture session???

Today Matt's Dad, Debbie, and Ana left after a good full weekend together. Here are a few pics of Jack enjoying his grandparents:

Here is Jack enjoying his new pajamas and matching slippers!

Jack also LOVES the water, so the hotel pool was a cold but fun time for everyone!

Happy May Day/Butterfly Pavillion

Happy May Day! As a kid May Day in the Cul-de-Sac was one of the best days of the year, making candy bags and leaving them on our friends doorsteps and running (the only day of the year that we had an excuse to play ding dong ditch). Even though this year's May Day didn't include any ding dong ditching it was a great day. We started the day with a trip to the Butterfly Pavillion and since our 4 year old niece Ana is a bug fanatic it was heaven for her. There were TONS of butterflies and bugs, and I even held a tarantula!

Jackson mainly slept through the exhibits, but didn't he look adorable???
Matt wasn't too fond of the Butterflies, and spent the majority of the time in the Pavillion dodging Butterflies. At one point when he was slapping away a Butterfly one of the volunteers came up to him and him if she could help him, that was his cue to exit and wait for us in the hall!
