Mr. Cute but not so Innocent!

Every Tuesday afternoon I have the day off of work and get together with some friends from church for playgroup. Today it was 75 and sunny so we met at a playground and enjoyed the weather. As you can see Jack and his little pal Burke can really get into it, and they are both pretty vicious. I'm sure that they are going to end up being pals, but for now his mom and I just spend our time protecting them from each other!

Cheap Entertainment!

Today I went to upload pictures for the camera, and realized that I still had pictures from Florida left on the camera. These were a few from when we had a few hours to kill at the Atlanta airport. It turns out an empty water bottle is the best entertainment for an antsy little boy!

First Tooth, First Ear Infection

It's official, our baby finally has his first tooth! Well... it's actually just a sharp little point on his front bottom left gum, but's it's a start. Along with his first tooth he's got his first ear infection as well. Needless to say it hasbeen a difficult week. He has had ANOTHER cold for about a week, and yesterday he stopped eating so Matt brought him to the doctor, and the doctor said its a bad ear infection in his left ear. The reason that he wouldn't eat is because the suction on the bottle would build up too much pressure in his ear. So now he's on antibiotics, and drops as a pain killer and he is doing much better.

Matt and I are doing good, we're working on figuring out all of plans for the rest of the year, some of the things that are in the works are: Marquette for Timmy and Libby's wedding, a trip to Denver for my sister, Matt's mom, and Matt's dad, some time in MN in June for Jack and I (Matt can't get the time off of work to come with us), Jack's 1st birthday celebration in Denve (details to come), a Whitewater rafting trip in CO, a trip to Jamaica with my family, a potential summer softball team with our Bible Study, an possibly more! We have been invited to 7 weddings this summer, none of which are in CO, and we are struggling with how to decide which ones to go to. One is in CO (that one's easy), one is in Marquette and Matt is a groomsmen (that makes that one easy also), two are in downstate MI, one is in Seattle, one is in Texas, one is in Minneapolis. The hardest part is that every single one of them came to our wedding! I wish our budget and time would allow for all of them, but there are going to be some tough decisions to be made.

Well, I'm off to get some stuff done now that Jack is finally sleeping!

Soaking up the Sunshine!

Tonight is the last night of our wonderful vacation in BEAUTIFUL Punta Gorda Florida. We came down last Tuesday and have spent the week at the house that my parents are renting here. My Grandpa Orien and sister were here for the beginning of our trip, and now it's just Matt, Jack, my parents and I.

This week was Jackson's first swim in a pool, and he loved it. He would dive right under and drink the whole pool if we would let him put his head under. He also LOVES to splash. Throughout the week we spent hours in the pool, got lots of reading in, went out on the boat (and saw Dolphins less than 15 feet away!), had numerous ice cream cones, watched the Blue Angels practice, had dinner at Harpoon Harry's on the harbour, walked through Fisherman's Village, went to the Flea Market and picked up a few great finds, and enjoyed lots of great meals as a family. It was also great to have help with Jack from my family all week long. The only downside of the week is that we all came down with colds.

Here are some pics from our week and if you want to see the rest I posted them all at http://www.mcgurnfam.shutterfly.com/.

6 Month Appointment

On Thursday we had Jack's 6 month appointment and here are his stats:

-22lbs 3 oz (97th percentile)... he's back on the charts!
-27 inches long (80th percentile)
-44 cm head (70th percentile)

The doctor said that he is completely healthy and doing great. She also said that we should start giving him a sippy cup and feeding him "puffs" which are like soft crackers.

He also got 5 shots and 1 oral vaccination. We'll have to go back next month for his follow up flu shot. Otherwise we don't need to go back until he is 10 months old! Our little baby sure is growing up!

More Pics

Yesterday we had a great Saturday as a family and went all over town. We got Jack's passport pictures taken at picture people and decided to get some cute pictures along with the passport pics. Here is the link to the pictures: http://smilestore.picturepeople.com/my/images?tk=ec37f1fe-c935-4a85-9444-97e6815d51bc.

We also had lunch at Chilis, got some produce for more baby food at Sunflower (sweet potatoes and carrots), picked up some necessities from Target, hit K-mart for their "Super Double" coupons, had free Quizno's subs for dinner, picked up some free stuff (mainly baby socks) with our $5 coupons from Kohls, and made a stop at the post office and bank! The amazing part was that Jack was outstanding for the entire day!
